what is not there in Managed Instance?

There is no OS, sql agent, linked server and everything is there but there is no managed instance.

Some of applications and databases will not work in Managed Instance why?

Legacy applications or databases like client database is only work in sql server 2016 or 2017 or 2014 not work for latest version then managed instance won’t accept because MI always supports latest version.
